Front end sways in turns
Front end sways in turns
I have recently purchased and 04 base tl. Is it normal to have a lot of road noise from the front? I think I might need wheel bearings. It also sways when in turns kind of like I have power steering then I don't then I have it again. I have done the power steering Oring as well as changed the fluid no air bubbles. It seemed to have this problem on my test drive but no has gotten worse. Has anyone had the same issues or have any answers to my problem?
Thanks

You're describing two different problems or you are describing one problem incorrectly. If your car sways in turns... then that means something to do with your sway bar, shocks, or even subframe (since you say its used).
If your steering keeps loosing power as you describe... then thats a sign of your rack&pinion or pump failure.
If your steering is loose... check inner and outer tie rod ends.

What kind of tires? Tread Depth? PSI? Unusual wear?
My front tires have always been loud as shit and there isn't anything out of place.....just the nature of certain tires.
The swaying your describing sounds like either soft sidewalls, low pressure, crappy tread design or a combination of the 3 more than a steering issue.

The road noise has happened with both sets of tires I've had on the car (summer & snow). Definitely road/tire noise I drove on some packed snow today and the noise went away problem noise solved. Now the steering problem still unresolved.Maybe this will help diagnose I also get a clicking noise turning hard left out of a parking spot or onto a roadway.
