While I'm sure the dealer will fix this, I wanted to see if anyone's front driver door "clicks" when you open it. When I pull the handle and open the door, it makes 4-6 distinctive metallic clicks. It happens every single time and is easily repeatable. I'm guessing the door may be a little misaligned, but when looking at it closed (inside or out), the gaps look like the others.

Any help is appreciated!

 

I have the same thing but ive been too lazy to go to dealer, plus i dont want to deal with their bs....keep me posted on what the problem is! THANKS ;]

 

Haven't gotten over there yet, but it sounds like not too many people have this problem. From what I can tell, it's the upper hinge on the car side (not the door side) that seems to be creaking against the rest of the body. I'm sure it's not too hard to fix, but I hate to give the car up (unless I get an RDX as a loaner...factory turbo...mmmmm).

yeah, try using WD-40 and spray between the car and the door (hinge area shown in red arrow below). My old car used to do that.

I had the same problem and my dealer replaced the "door checker" - whatever the hell that is and the problem is HISTORY!

 

i have the same issue...i believe it is the actual door lock on the door

 

I'm not sure it's that metal piece in your picture - I think it's actually where the door hinge connects to the frame. The dealer did a quick look and tried some kind of Honda-branded spray, but it really didn't do much. I have a feeling they might have to take the door off and replace the hinge, but I don't know much about doors.

My dealer replaced the 'Door clicker' which fixed the problem with my 05TL, the car also had other issues so I spoke to the dealer and they replaced it with the 06TL, everyhing has been okay since.

Take your car to the dealer and tell them to look at the 'Door Clicker'.

Having a similar problem with my 04 TL with about 50,000 miles. I have it set to auto unlock all doors when placed in park and to auto lock over 10 mph. ONLY the driver side door will not lock when over 10 mph, will not unlkock when placed in park and and will not lock with the key fob. Will be taking a trip to the dealer soon.

 

Took the car in to the dealer this morning and they put in a new door actuator and the problem has been resolved. Sunnyside Acura took great care of me--paid despite being slightly out of warranty.
