Front bumper clip bumper

I was just in an accident where my front bumper was hit on that little bumper cicular clip. The body shop said that they could repair it but would have to cover the whole area including where the little circular bumper clip was. Does anyone know how this will effect the car? What's the purpose of that little clip anyway? Thanks in advance

Are you talking about that circle on the pass. side of the bumper? If so thats the hole where the tow eye screws in if you ever needed a pull.

Yes, I'm talking about that. Is that all its for? If so, I think I'm just going to go ahead and have it sealed up permanently. I'm 99% sure the replacement bumpers don't have that bumper clip so either way I would have to cover it. Thanks Man

Yes, that's the hole for the tow hook.

Yep. Exact same issue here. First had my indy shop try and adjust, then the local reputable Honda body shop said they'd easily fix it...but basically came back looking exactly the same. Last resort is a reputable body shop or the local Acura dealer, but they'd both probably charge an arm and a leg, so I'm just going to live with it.
