Alright, been having a problem recently where BOTH my HID's (driver and passenger side) start flickering while driving. They will flash on and off rapidly until either HID bulb goes out or I turn the headlights off completely for about 3 seconds and then turn them back on again. It is usually triggered when I am going around a corner or hit a bump. It also just does it randomly. It has also happened when I am starting my vehicle at night. I have looked up this problem on here, but didn't see a problem specifically like mine. I have checked the fuses, the connections I can get to without really digging deep and taking the bumper off, and the bulbs themselves are less than a year old. I am going to guess one of the ballasts is bad?

Car is a 2004 TL MT by the way

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm sorry in advance if this was covered before, but like I said I did not see anyone have the same specific problem as me

check your ballast or ignitors happened to me too turn out to be my igniters

 

I had the same problem with one light, and it was the ballast.

 

I am having the exact same issue.. It is very frustrating when they will work fine for a while but then cut out intermittently.. They both flicker and they both cut out at random times.. Let me know if you find the fix.. I really dont want to replace the ballasts or ignitors as they are pretty expensive to replace at about 180/each or 75/each for the ignitors..

 

Very weird, turning left seems to provoke this "strobe-like" flickering more than anything else. Any ideas why that would cause it?

Also, is there any way of checking if the ballasts or ignitors (or both) are bad?
