Question Buying a TL with really worn seats... Easiest fix?

I've been talking to a guy on craigslist about buying a TL but it has really worn seats, like really worn. Below is a picture form the craigs ad. Whats the cheapest way to fix this? Options I know are reupholstery, buying new seats, or getting cheap racing seats which could be dangerous. If I were to buy this car, what's the best way? Thanks.

I bought a crashed '04 TL that the seat airbags deployed on, so I would have had to replace the airbags and stitch them back up. I got a quote of around $300 to have them stitched back up from a local upholstery guy, but that was on the side, so I don't know how that would differ for you. Only think I know is because the seats have "french" stitching on the sides, it's more expensive.

I ended up just buying "new" seats from LKQ, which cost me $125 per seat. That was a shame because other than the airbags having deployed, they were in great shape... better than the "insurance quality" ones I bought from LKQ. Anyway, you can check online at www.car-part.com to see if you can find any near you. The only thing about buying new seats is that you might have to take it to the dealer to have your weight sensor calibrated for the airbag system. It didn't happen to me, but I know of a few other cases where that happened. You'll know if it happened because your SRS light will come on and stay on.

check price for new seat leather through acura. I know it may be expensive but labor is relatively cheap. I'd do it for $75, but live in Houston. Seat leathers may be 300 to 400, oh yea and don't forget to ask the guy to come down off the price cuz of the extra work needed. and also may want to invest in 120 or so to bring to acura shop to have em check it out.

Here you go..about $1300 complete

http://www.ebay.com/itm/04-05-06-07-...#ht_3836wt_922

Or you can look for used on car-part.com ...

If the car is in good condition with everything else it will be well worth it doing the interio because you will be in love everytime ....

Ended up buying the car. Got quoted by a local auto upholstery place about 450 to do the whole job which is cheaper than buying new seats so I'm looking into it. Looking forward to being on Acurazine
