I was on the highway and I had to get around some one so I kicked it to the floor and the CEL started flashing as soon as the RPMs went towards redline.... The CEL flashed for a minute or two then shut off and didn't come on.... What would cause this to happen and can I read a code if the light isn't on. The car is a 2005 base auto TL.

I tried getting the code read at autozone and nothing turned up.... I haven't replicated the problem either.... Could a miss be caused by bad gas or using lower grade gasoline.
