Fix Tear in Leather Seat?
![Why Me](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/whyme.gif)
![Tomato](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/tomato.gif)
Is this able to be fixed and if so who can do it? It is on one of the bottom panels and the TL is an '05.
Thanks for any advice!

You need to glue a patch of fabric under the tear, or the seam will open up the first time you sit on it.
Get a piece of heavy material (like canvas) that's the same color as your leather, and cut a patch a little larger than the tear. Use a toothpick to push the fabric under the hole in the leather. Make sure the patch is smooth, and that it's centered under the tear.
Using tweezers, gently lift each edge of the torn leather and apply a little Crazy Glue to the canvas patch with the toothpick. Press the torn leather down onto the canvas patch. Try to make the edges meet so you won't be able to see a gap in the tear, and when it dries, it should hardly be noticeable.

I did the same thing a few months ago. I bought a tube of Barge leather glue at the local Ace hardware. I used a tooth picked and applied a litte of the cement. It looks better and the glue is holding. Unless someone really looks it had to see the holes.

Thanks to all for the patch suggestions. I'm going to try dj5's Barge leather glue and try to find close to my camel color.
I would go to the dealer but it is a 2005 with 75K miles so I don't see them covering it.

Then can usually get the fabric in the OE color, pull the seat apart and sew in a new panel. Only problem is that it will probably stand out like a sore thumb if the surrouding fabric is worn.
As the outer panel on the driver's seat tore at the seam on the daughter's Hemi Grand, had the upholstery shop replace the entire panel. As the fabric ordered had the same grain as the OE, and was black, couldn't tell the difference, but the cost was $150.
