first minor problem at 82000 miles

Well I spoke too soon in the highest mileage thread, I had 0 problems at 81,000 miles then at 82,000 my rear view mirror shorted which along with the rear view mirror took out a bunch of interior lighting, which is odd since it had the right fuse 7.5 (IG Meter fuse). I have replaced all the lighting myself except for the Homelink which I am replacing soon since Homelink uses LED's versus bulbs the entire unit must be replaced, but since it's the most expensive part at $300+ it will have to wait a week or so. I love my TL too much. Lights/switches replaced so far: VSA Off switch, moonroof button light, mirror control switch, brightness control button light, driver's side A/C bulb in center console, and the hazard light. The only light I cannot seem to recall if it ever lit up is the phone controls on the steering wheel, the top bottom to make a call lights up but the bottom one to end a call does not, I'm sure that it is supposed to so I will have to check into that one as well. Although a strange occurence I must say for this being my first problem I am very fortunate.

It is odd that the rear view mirror is tied into so many things, when the IG Meter fuse blows you lose your instrument cluster, a/c, all your power windows, moonroof, etc. just from one fuse. Oh well, everything is working great again with the new rear view mirror

Check with Acura customer care 1-800-382-2238 x5
and with the mirror maker
Gen 2 have a mirror issue the maker is giving ~Pro Bono~ replacements without concern of age or mileage and those are 150$

You may have the same thing!

^^ Uhm, yeah, but those 2G mirrors are actually breaking open and leaking "electo-optical" fluid. Not quite the same thing, I think.

Here's a link, FYI, for the OP: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=78061

Interesting, nothing leaked out of mine, maybe it was leaking internally though causing the short? I guess I got lucky that it didnt leak everywhere like in the link you described. So far the expensive part is replacing all the bulbs it blew out when it shorted.
