Error Code P2422

Has anyone encountered this error code P2422??

I filled up at BP, right after went strong for one block with VSA off...(a 335 was being a jackass)

An hour later I got the malfunction light.. The car drives fine. I've disconnected the battery. Resetted the code. Drove for 15 miles, and the light is back on.

Ideas???

Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System Vent Shut Valve Close Malfunction is what the code correlates to.

Also, make sure your gas cap is on tight enough. Take it off and make sure it clicks at least three of four times. Wait a few days to see if that resolves the issue

Thanks, I know what the code reads... Just trying to understand how can a 2008 have EVAP valve malfunction... Or what is the solution...

Not happy at the moment...

this could have happened due to a loose gas cap...

yes, same thing i said above as well. it makes sense since it happened after you got gas. take it off, give it a few clicks to make sure its tighten, and then see if it disappears within a few days

if not, lookin like a trip to the dealership.

As per manual, I'm suppose to get a Tighten Fuel Cap on my MID along with a pcode... And I after I pulled this code, I don't know, it seems it's something else.

But I'll give it a few days... Thanks guys.

Bump...

Car drives fine, the malfunction light is still shining bright. We'll raise the car tomorrow I guess and see if anything is loose by the canister...

it actually correlates to the canister valve being stuck closed i think, or open. whichever one its not good.

you ever find anything that caused the issue? i'm getting the same code, and after 50 miles of driving the code comes back after clearing it.

i removed the canister, cleaned the tubes out, and tested the canister valve which works fine.

I have the same p2422. Trying to order a new valve but there is a lot of confusion out there about the valves on the EVAP. I found some diagrams that helped me understand what I needed to order but still looking for actual part #'s.

the valve is part number 2 in that diagram on

problem that honda/acura won't tell anyone is that most of the time it's spider webs that case the issue, and all you need to do is blast the hose numbered 14 with air.
