i have a 2005 acura Tl i just bought in january. i had 27000 miles when i bought it. 2-3 weeks after i bought it, there was a pinging noise coming from the belt area. ive tried getting it fixed by both dealers here in st louis and both have not been able too. one has even said that a fix wud b available within a week but that week has been here and gone a month ago. im also getting conflicting reports from acura. sometimes its a belt issue, sometimes its a pulley problem, sometimes its a tensioner problem. everything on that side of the engine has been replaced and when i mean everything i mean everything. its been in the shop for this problem (among others) 8 times and counting. ive done my own research and talked with honda tech ppl and its a problem with not only acura engines but also honda engines. there is some stuff going around that this is a deeper issue than just an external component of the engine but something is wrong with the engineering on the inside of the engine. im not sure what to beleive anymore bcuz i even tried calling acura main headquarters and i just ended up being disconnected from them when i told them about the stuff i dug up. i was just wondering if anyone knows anything about the pinging.
