Engine: Not What It Used To Be

I currently have a 04 TL with 45k miles on it. When I first had the car it seemed to drive real smooth. You could barely tell the engine was running. Now, it's not as smooth on fast acceleration, nor does the engine doesn't seem to idle as quietly. What service items might anyone suggest?

What kind of oil have you been using? With 45K miles, you might want to try cleaning your engine with some Auto-RX. Do the complete clean and rinse cycles, and make sure to use dino oil and not synthetic until the end of the rinse cycle. I'm just about to do it myself - I haven't tried it yet but some people swear by it.

Also, change your air filter if you haven't yet and do a transmission fill and refill (3X). Even though Acura says you don't need to change the transmission fluid until 60K, it's a bad idea to wait till then. You should also change your brake and steering fluids as well.

try seafoaming the engine. Also what gas have you been using? also check the air filter and change if it looks a bit dirty. Check air in tires and also check all fluids for proper levels.
