Was able to duplicate noise I've been hearing for the service mgr and tech. He said they would check valve adjustment and intake manifold for possible problem. The loaner car an 05 tl makes the exact same noise as mine this afternoon.Went back to dealer after work to find my intake manifold and valve covers off. The service mgr told me my intake manifold tuning valve butterfly was not in the correct position so they adjusted it. Valves will be adjusted tomorrow. He told me my bottom end acceleration should be improved because butterfly was slightly open and is supposed to be closed . I hope he's right!

So has the adjustment end the noise and increase the bottom end acceleration?

 

no, dropping it off tuesday to have the factory rep listen to it.The car runs great, seems better than before but still makes the same noise.
