Engine Coolant below MIN~!?

I have a 06 3g TL that i just purchased about two months ago. This morning I was checking the engine coolant level on my mom's 06 Highlander and saw that it was half full ... yet my mom was afraid that there might be something wrong with the car since it went down since she first bought the car. So, in showing her that everything was fine I opened up my hood to compare coolant levels and show that it was fine as long as the coolant level was in between the MAX and MIN marks ... however, shockingly I looked down at my coolant reservoir to see that it was BELOW THE MIN MARK ... AND I BOUGHT THE CAR ONLY 2 MONTHS AGO! I even took in the car to get it serviced only two weeks ago at Cerritos Acura because of some weird engine noise in the morning when it was cold ... yet they just returned the car saying that everything was fine and nothing could be reproduced by their technicians ... SACK OF BS ... so now I can't even drive my car @_____@

im assuming theres something DEFINITELY wrong when your engine coolant level is below the MIN mark on a practically NEW car??? someone please enlighten me ... I'm definitely frustrated right now

Nothing is wrong with the car, from the factory the car comes a little above the min. mark if none is added at pdi then it will be low. Engine coolant does go low once you drive the car and you have to fill it every once in a while, the resevoir is just there to keep the radiator at maximum level and give it coolant if it needs it. It sucks down the fluid you might have a leak or you definetely have a problem if the resevoir is empty and you take off the radiator cap and your radiator is empty, but from what you are saying is completely normal and top off the resevoir. The dealer only fills or tops of you fluid if they are performing an oil change or if they are told that they have to top off every cars fluids, but you can bring your car to the dealership that you purchased it and ask why they didnt top off your fluid during pdi if you are concerned and pissed about it because that should be have been done!

i also checked the radiator this morning, and it is filled to the brim with coolant which is a relief ... should I just purchase some new coolant, and that is it?

Noticed when I had my '05 that the coolant was low too. Picked up some coolant from acura and topped it off. Just make sure that you use Acura coolant.

Yes. Add coolant to the "max" line on the overflow reservoir when the engine is cold.
The radiator should be always be full if there is some fluid in the overflow bottle.

The gnomes will take it away.

Thumbs up Engines don't consume coolant...

If you are losing coolant it is going somewhere internal or leaking externally. Engines don't consume coolant. You would have to pretty hot to burn off any water.

Only use distilled water if you are just topping it off without anti-freeze.

Keep an eye on the amount you are losing.

If it makes you feel any better my '05 is the same way. It is below the MIN line.
