Engine backfire?
Has anyone else had this problem? I was on the freeway, put it down for passing gear, it downshifted, but when it upshifted it sounded like it backfired throught the intake. It happened again about 10 mins later, same situation. I got to my stop and checked the CAI, nothing loose and filter still on.
Now I'm scared to jump on it again. Any suggestions?

Sounds like the car is going instantly lean when you hit the throttle. Your CAI could indeed be contributing to this. If you're sure you don't have any leaks in the CAI, the only other thing I could suggest is put the stock intake back on it and see if that fixes it. If it does, you know where to look for your problem. If it doesn't, take it in and have it diagnosed. It could be several different issues.

Now with i-Vtec
It's normal or so it seems to be (seems like a lot of odd things on this car have become known as normal to me... ha). I know that I can repeat it at will whenever I want and it's usually around the same RPM's and a full throttle shift early in the rpms. Both Michael Benz and myself have discussed this we both were at a loss. However, it may have something to do with the drive by wire system. I have experienced it well before I ever put an intake on the car running the stock air box. So this is not because of the intake. Always run 93 or higher as well (94 when it was available around here and it still happened).
