The specs are 6-10 clicks and the brakes should hold. Although the shoes are self adjusting, the environment in which they live is certainly rust prone, I'd first start by checking the adjustment and the shoe condition inside the rotor hat. If everything fine, then it looks like a cable adjustment is necessary.

agreed. on my buddies TL, we spun the star spindle A LOT. but it still wouldnt hold, we finally adjusted the cable from center console.

There is a minor adjustment procedure (cable) and a major adjustment procedure (shoes) as well as a p-brake shoe lining break in procedure. There's a good chance the minor adjustment will fix your problem.

Do a search for "p-brake" or "parking brake". The scans are all posted in threads on this forum.

Damn, dont remind me of this issue. My TL rolled back after I parked it, in a LA fitness parking lot and smash into another parked car. All I did was adjust the cable under the center armrest.

i've noticed parking brake tends to hold better when the brakes are cold too.
