Electrical burning smell in cabin

Just as I'm reading the replies in my post on whether or not I should get an extended warranty...

So I get home today and driving home, I hear a rock in my tire. Park in the garage - look at the tire, find the rock but can't reach it so I turn on the car and drive it forward again a foot or two.

Get back out, pull out the rock, no big deal. Get back in the car to reverse it back into the garage and the cabin has an electrical burning smell to it.

Tried pretty much everything, AC, climate, radio, all speakers, CD, NAVI, sunroof, windows, mirrors, seats, all lights, etc. Everything works.

Car still stinks but less so. Anyone have any idea what it might be?

Ooops, it's a 2006, Navi, auto, with about 56k kkms on it (about 35k miles). Just came back from work - about a 10 minute drive.

Not yet...it's still under warranty...it doesn't expire until August. I am still thinking of getting the extended warranty but even if I did...if this is an issue with the sound system or Nav, it won't be covered.

Figured it out. I have a USASPEC PA11-HON2y ipod adapter. I opened it after detecting a slight burn smell coming from it. Once opened, the smell was horrific. I can see burn marks on the board and housing. Funny thing is, it still plays and connects my iphone but I noticed the following now:
1) It no longer auto-plays the iphone when I first connect it - it used too...I didn't notice until now
2) It no longer charges the iphone.
3) This isn't the cable that came with the unit - USASPEC sent me a new cable that will charge the iphone for $20 a little while ago. I have a feeling the cable isn't 100% compatible with the device.
4) the unit now stinks like fire and brimstone.

Wow! Mine did the same thing after getting the new cable to charge the iPhone 4. I opened mine and same part burned. I've sent them an email in hopes they will replace.

Did they replace yours
