Driver's door won't open from the inside!

Look at a DIY here for removing the door panel. There is a step in which you must remove the cable to remove the panel. This cable operates the lock from the inside. Most likely this cable has popped out of place.

yea, there is a metal cable that attachs to the interior door handle... sounds like it came off
you should be able to get access to that by using just a screwdriver and removing the panel.. be careful, once you remove the screws, make sure you unplug the harness for the door locks/window and possible the OEM security (My harness was in the door for my 08TLS)

When you get the door panel loose, don't drop it or pull it out too far. I had my car at the dealer and the pulled the panel off. They ended up cracking the part of the cable that clips to the door panel. Eventually it broke and I had to replace the cable. Took me about 2 hours to replace the cable (the DIY on here is priceless). Yours probably just came disconnected. Good luck.

Resurrecting this old thread. In my case, I took off the door panel and the cable's green plastic connector is NOT cracked or broken, and the end of the cable is still connected to the driver door latch. Also the little black plastic piece that holds the cable in the latch is also fine. What I DID notice is that when I pull on the door latch, the cable doesn't retract/feed into the tubing around it and it bunches up by the door latch. I can re-feed it back through and there's not too much resistance but it will still bunch up at the door latch. This making me think that there's a problem at the OTHER end near the door lock housing and it's either not connected or it broke, which is why I can't open the door from the inside. Like the OP, I have to open my window and open the door from the outside. Thinking of just replacing both cables, the lock, and the latch since it's not too expensive. Anyone else run into this situation?
