Wonder if anyone has this problem. Have a 2005 TL with approx 15000 miles on it and it just developed a creak in the drivers door when opening. The creak happens when the door is open about 6 to about 10 inches. Before and after that, no problem. As I say, when first opening the door it is quiet until it is open somewhere between 6 and 10 inches and then it creaks. It doesn't make any noise when closing or opening further. This problem just started and I have lubricated the hinges, but still noticing this noise. All other doors are quiet with no noise whatsoever. Curious if anyone else has experienced the same problem or what the fix might be.

 

A couple of threads here had owners who mentioned replacement of the "door check" or "door checker" which is apparently a synthetic non-metal part somewhere within the jamb and easily replaceable by the dealer.
