Drive belt install help

Hey guys, I have been searching and have not been able to find an answer. I am installing my drive belt but I cannot get the tensioner to compress in order to slip the belt on. I attempted to turn it clockwise and counter and no luck. Any tips?!? thanks in advance!

your wrench isn't long enough. there's a lot of tension on that pulley, you'll need a significant amount of leverage to move it. Go to home depot at buy a 2ft long cast iron pipe big enough to slip over the end of the ratchet. You'll be surprised how much easier it is to move with the right tools.

Turning it clockwise will undo the reverse threaded bolt holding the pulley on.

I do have a breaker bar its just not on the ratchet when I took the pic. Even with the pulley off, I do not enough "belt" to wrap around the pulley. I found a few diagrams but none are specific enough to solve my issue.

One more thing, I am assuming the top pulley is the tensioner which is the one I should be turning.

its the same pulley you used to relieve the tension to take the belt off! you move it the exact same way

that looks like an old belt?
