Drained battery and door shocking me.
So for about a year now my battery has been raining dead in 2 days of me not driving it. I bought a new battery and it still does the same. I get schocked everytime I get out of my car after driving. It shocks me so bad that I flinch and have to use my sleeve. Recently it hit me that these two issues might be related. If anyone has had this problem please advise on what to do.
Thanks,
Anna

Do you have aftermarket floor mats ? Also note if its happening whenever your wearing the same kind of shoes... Oh and also, PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN YOU GET OFF YOUR CAR TO FUEL UP AT A GAS STATION.

They're not. The shock you're describing is fairly common - it's from a build-up of static electricity. I've owned a couple cars that were prone to doing that. (they all had cloth interiors.) I just ignore it, myself. The floor-mat issue stated above is a good suggestion.

Probably the HFL draining the battery as others have said. Feel the top console after the car has been sitting for a while and see if it's warm. If it is, you found the problem. You can unplug it and lose the HFL until you get a new one.
I have the static problem out here. It was even worse when I lived in Arizonia. It's usually not a huge problem in a car with leather seats but I guess ours is the exception. Mine also seemed to get worse when I installed new carpet in the car.

I have leather seats and still get shoked. I will figure out this problem.
Thanks everyone for your replies. Appreciate it!

I'm sure it's a combo of your clothes, maybe shoes, and most of all the weather. I'll be in Sacramento and then Chico tomorrow and Sunday so I'll be paying attention if I get shocked more than normal in that area.
If you can, next time you get out of the car try not to rub against the seat. It's kind of hard to do but it should reduce the shock.

Just went through Sacramento again on the way home. I was going with a friend to pick up a GN in Chico. The plan was to stop in Sac for a few hours but we left so late in the day its been one long boring drive.

The HFL is right under the plastic piece by the rear view mirror. I used very thin scissors to pop off the plastic piece. Unscrew the 4 bolts and the whole plastic will come off, disonnect the connections so that it doesnt dangle on the wires. Once you do that just unplug the green connection that is connected to the HFL. It was really simple, I've never done it before and had it done is about 10 minutes. Good luck.
