doors unlocking when taking an exit off the highway?
what up everyone new to the site, going to start getting into the mods i like what yall are doing but have a potential serious problem on my hands before i start anything. my doors have recently begun to unlock on their own when taking a right turn going relatively fast (ie. like off a highway) i think it might be since i left my driver window open a few days ago when it started pouring so it might be electrical..anyone ever heard of this? btw...04 auto.
I wonder if some water got into the lock/unlock button on your door and created a situation where something shorts when the gravity force of your car changes during the turn. I'd have someone look at it.

MID = Multi - Information Display......its where you can see how many miles your car has and all that jazz.....
here let me spell it out for ya
1> start your car and keep it in P(ark)
2> hit the < > button till you get to: Keyless Memory Setting
3> press select/reset
4> press < > till you get to: Door Lock
5> press select
6> press < > till you hit your choice (5mph / 10mph / Shift to Drive) <-- dont have all the options memorized
7> after you do that: take your car for a drive.
8> come back and post if it worked

I know the car isn't a space shuttle, and I am no EE, but I know those lock switches are electronic, and electronics and water don't mix. If they got wet, they could be malfunctioning.
Hi y'all i'm new to this and need a little help . I just bought an '04 TL and I really love this car . I have a similar problem my door locks seem to have a mind of their own they keep locking and unlocking while I'm driving . I guess I should take it to the dealer but would like to get some help in here if possible . Thanks in advance .
The only option in this respect for unlocking the doors is that you can set them to unlock automatically when you turn the key to the "off" position.
I have a 2006 and my MID is set to unlock the doors when going into PARK. Check the MID for how unlocking is set to as well - perhaps that will be a clue when you change the setting and you get different behavior.
I had a similar issue once with my 04 TL. It was pouring rain and after I got home and shut off the car, locked it, after like 20 or 30 mins, i heard the alarm go off for no reason. I unlocked it and relocked the car and after another 20 to 30 mins, the alarm went off again. It kept on happening alot so I just left it unlocked. Anyways, the next day it didn't happen because I think the water all dried out or drained out from the driver side door. I spoke with my tech guy at the dealership and he said that it probably was just the rain and that if moisture gets into the driver side door, it could play havoc with the auto locking mechanism. He said that unless it's happening now, there wasn't a way for him to diagnose it.
The problem hasn't happened since then so I guess it was just the moisture.
