Door light problem. Help please!

So I decided to change the door courtesy lights to LED. Drive side door went fine. Then came the passenger door. Nothing happens, no light, nothing. Before swapping out the original bulb, everything was working.

Now the question I have is, does the passenger door have its own fuse? It seems strange since I checked the interior light fuse and it was all good.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Yeah, flip the bulb around.

If that doesn't work, try the original bulb again. If that works, the problem is the LED. If it doesn't then it's something else.

thanks for the quick reply guys. I tried putting back the original bulb back in and it still didn't work at all. While I was checking this earlier, I pulled out the multimeter and there no was reading on it at all.

I'd think both doors would be on the same fuse. You can look and see if one if burned out - should be in the driver footwell on the left sdie panel. There is a fuse diagram in the Owners Manual and under the lid of the fuse box cover.

thanks Bearcat, I checked fuse #6 earlier and it looked alright. I even pulled it out to see if it was functioning okay and it was. Strange thing is, only the passenger side wont light up. argh. I hate electrical problems and this car is still new. LOL

Hate to revive a dead thread but this is my exact problem...except my driver side has taken a shit. What gives?

Can anyone think of what the problem might be? I really want to find a solution to this, it annoys me to have lost the courtesy light option in my doors.

nevermind...our 3g's door switch is wired differently. If you tap into the positive, it actually the does the reverse it turns the light ON when the door is closed.

I need to figure this out...turns out I may have fried a relay for the door light somewhere. I did find the frayed positive wire in the door rubber grommet that must have made contact and caused me to fry fuse #6 repeatedly...when I jumpered it out it is probably what fried the lighting relay. At least the popping fuse has been solved.

Ironic it happened right around when I tried doing the reverse HID mod and tailgater switch...but happened to be due to the driver side mid speaker install I did. Guess I pointed my finger at the wrong problem.

Thanks for responding, man.
I tried a work around on Sunday, but can't get the polarity of the switch corrected...I tried running positive wire from the door switch but they made it so that when you bolt it back down it grounds itself and kills power to the light again. I did a rig and got it working but it was at like 50% intensity.

Finally, I figured out what wire I had frayed that caused the fuse #6 short to begin with...and also figured out that to get the stupid fuse to stop blowing by shorting out the fuse panel I must have killed that circuit of the MICU (JUST the driver side courtesy light). Either way, I figured out the problem, thank goodness AND I also realized that it ain't worth $200 for the MICU and the PITA to change it just for a courtesy light that you can't even see because my inside LED's are so bright.

J.

Thank you for the follow up response though. I appreciate it.

I had this exact problem. Using the info I read on this thread, I wired a circuit using the signal that tells the car the door is closed/open (which is a grounded when the door is open) for me negative and a constant 12v for my positive (I used my battery but im sure there are closer things you could have used)

It works perfectly fine! No issue so far! Anyone have specific questions bout how I did it, just PM me!
