That's what I'm thinking. The electrical harness is connected to your door panel. If you disconnect it or short it, the latter of which the rain could be doing, it will signal that your door is ajar. Your rear window may also be in operable when it is shorted. I say check your connections and then get your seals checked if necessary.. If those aren't the culprit chase it down to the fuse box.

Just wanted to let you guys knows that the door switch is actually located on the chassis side of the vehicle, not the door. It's just a simple 1 wire switch. When the door is closed, the switch is open. When the door is opened, the switch closes (completes the circuit to ground).
You aren't the first TL to have this problem. I get one every month or so with the complaint that they can't lock their doors, or their alarm goes off randomly. Most of the time it's a misadjusted door switch/door panel.
An easy way to test the doors is to put your windows down, close all the doors, and then grab on the door and pull out. Check to see if your interior lights come on. If they do, push back on the door towards the car and see if they go off. If that's the case, the switch probably just needs adjusted.
Occasionally they go bad, but that usually causes the door to either always read closed, or always read open, depending if it's shorted to ground, or open
(the switch, that is).
Now I will say that the rain comment does throw a slight variable into all this, which the above posts were getting into. The door switch itself is sealed inside a rubber boot, and also behind the weather stripping of the door.
I tried to keep this short and simple, hope it helps. Let me know what you find.
