Does your TL "redline"?
I have recently noticed my 06' TL 5AT does not go to the redline. It shifts at 6500 rpm regardless of what mode I am in with the trans. I am not worried about it, just curious. Thanks.

One on the right for me
I had an old automatic that stopped going to the redline because the tranny was about to go. Don't think that would be the problem with you though.

Mine shifts at around 6500. Actually it feels like it begins its shift at around 6300 and by the time it has completed the shift, it has peaked at around 6500. Acura engineers probably decided to err on the side of caution in case the shift takes longer than expected, you don't want to go over redline. What if they programmed the shift to start at 6600, but takes twice as long as expected for the shift to complete, you'd be at 7000, above redline and the rev limiter would have to kick in. Result: rough shifting!

My 2006 shifts at 6500.
One thing to be aware of... in first gear, the engine whines up so quick that the tachometer is lagging behind by 200 rpm. This is why it appears to shift at 6300 because the tach is wrong in that the tach can not keep up with the engine's true rpm in first gear.
DISCLAIMER - the above statements are just my speculation that I firmly believe to be true.
