DIY transmission removal

I recently found a leak on my at case, not sure where its leaking it so I'm going to take it to a transmission shop. Does anyone here know if our transmissions can be removed without removing the entire engine? I'm hoping it's just a seal. Car has 127k on it and is in very good condition besides this. Any advice?

Thanks

It can definitely be done without removing the engine. The service manual describes it but you essentially have to support the engine somehow and remove components using the sub-frame and then it can be unbolted from the engine.

I've seen people use blocks under the oil pan but the manual says to support it from the top.

As soon as I burn up my clutch, I'll be doing it. Very soon.

Take pictures of the leak.

We'll help you pin-point it!
