Display delay on ELS

I recently had my 07 TL in the shop to replace the Hands Free module and the tech working on my car noticed that when the radio turned on that it took extended time for the dial display to light. Since I have an aftermarket warranty that I purchased when I bought the car I decided to let them send the radio back to get checked and repaired. Has anyone else had this problem with their ELS radio display?

According to my Acura dealer that's considered "abnormal".
When I turned on my radio the music would start almost immediately, but it took about 4 seconds for the display to light up. Before they brought it up I never noticed it.

My MID does take a while recently, when you close the door for it go back to the miles/trip display from the doors, but it seems to have gotten better as the weather warmed up. This year was the first time I noticed it, but then again, I have an 04 that's almost 10 years old.

When I was in Lake Tahoe and Flagstaff I could turn the dial and it would take up to 5 seconds to change the display. I know that's normal for the LCD. The OP might not be normal.
