Disappointed Side Markers

Ok so heres the deal. i ordered a set of 08 smoked side markers from hondaacuraworld.com.....

The lenses look great.... BUT....only problem is that the BULBS are RED... booooooo

I need resolve this problem. I need to change those RED bulbs to White.... oh btw i would also like to change the side blinking markers that light up yellow id like to change those to white also.

I tried to take a look at the side markers to see if there was a way to change the bulb but it seems the bulbs are in a casing that doesnt seem to open.

Let me know if ou guys have encountered this problem and if there is anything i can do to change this.

The red sucks but i live the smoked lenses

Thanks again for your help.

MAC, the factory TLS rear sidemarkers AND ebay/aftermarket rear side markers are red when they are on. The front sidemarkers are amber when on.

Those with WHITE sidemarkers are 100% custom. Also, they have LEDs inside not regular bulbs. They have to be cut up, and the LEDs have to be replaced. There is a DIY for it I believe. Take at look and you will see.

yep. and hopefully you live in an area where there are no police officers, because this is what they like to call "illegal"

Just because it's illegal where you live doesn't mean it's illegal elsewhere. You people really need to stop spreading misinformation; either qualify what you're claiming is illegal (ex.: "In _____, X is illegal"), or let it go.

Something like this is going to be mandated by the DOT so it will be the same all over the country.

Wrong. Light colors are determined by each state's DOT, not the federal DOT. Why else would each state's laws specifically spell out what's legal and illegal? I've read my state's general statutes regarding motor vehicles, have you? And my state's laws specifically say we can have white turn signals in the front.

State DOT is taking the lead from Federal DOT on safety related item like this. Not going to be much departure state to state. Go research all 50 states then report back to us. This would be a great service to members here. Memorial Day is coming up so you should have some extra time over the weekend.

Sorry, I don't care about everyone else's state, just mine. If somebody wants to know what's legal in their state, they should check their state's general statutes...they're online, it's not that hard. I certainly wouldn't ask on a forum.

Chill, Dog!

Seriously though, you've gotten me very interested to know, are white turn signals & sidemarkers legal in North Carolina? Someone confirm this! (with the statute!)

I would've had it before the edit, but I had to search twice, which of course meant I had to wait 60 seconds between searches (I soooo hate that).
