Dealer says radiator is leaking and is a 5 out of 10
Ok so here is what is going on with my wifes 05 TL
She took it in to have the oil changed and after was told the radiator was leaking and was a 5 out of 10 in severity.
I have never seen anything leaking in our garage. So I was like ok we will just keep an eye on it. So the next day I checked under the car again...no leaks or spots. I also checked the coolant level and it was topped off.
Today she got home from work and she told me the car is having trouble starting and the engine light is on as well as it idles rough. The car drives fine besides the rough idle. Temps are at normal levels as well.
I took the car down to Auto zone to have the code read and it is as follows
"P040 EGR flow ckt range/perf"
I did a few searches and found a few things. One thing I found was that the car thinks the engine is over heating. But it was not on an acura if that has any bearing. Unless a code is just a code regardless of make
Im looking at getting a new radiator but now I hope I have not caused any damage since I let this go for a couple of days.....
You guys have any thoughts on this code?

if its holding coolant and there are NO leaks on your garage floor, the radiator is fine.
the EGR valve sometimes gets clogged. two easy bolts hold it in place and is visible when looking down at the engine.
if you remove this item, the EGR valve, you can clean it out all the carbon.

justnspace thank you so much for your time and the excellent pictures. I will try this tomorrow when I get off work and will reply with the outcome.
Anything specific I should clean it with? besides a small flat head

I finally was able to get the time to fix the issue.
I just replaced the unit and the engine light is no longer on and the car idles and drives just like it should. I picked up the valve from autozone for 80 bucks.
I did a some difficulty busting the back bolt loose but after putting some liquid wrench and some leverage on it I was able to crack it loose. I did disconnect the radiator hose as well as pull the battery and box to allow for more working room. But all in all it went well.
Thanks for all the info. I really appreciate it.
