Dealer Messed With Brakes
Hey Guys
When I first bought my car, I had about 13K miles on it...after putting 10K miles on it I was told my brakes needed to be replaced. When I first got my car, my braking was terrific...after they put new brakes on my car, it still feels weak. I still brake the way I always did but it is not as responsive as before. Do you guys have any suggestions?
I took it back to the dealer to have it test driven but they claim that my brakes are good...I beg to differ ( I even had my girlfriend drive it, and she said it is worse compared to how the brakes worked before)

Flush the brake fluid so its all fresh and new- that improves the pedal feel and overall operation of the system.

SILKO: It sounds like your brakes need to be bled (properly)- there might be a little air in the brake lines, which causes the pedal to feel mushy instead of firm when applying the brakes.

From my conversation with them, the dealership said they replaced the whole thing...or else I would have failed inspection (I was renewing my sticker)
Why wouldn't they flush the fluid after replacing the brakes? That doesn't seem thorough to me!
I am going to go to another ACURA Dealership to have them look at it and flush the fluid.... we'll see if that does the trick.

Brake Fluid change/flush is a seperate service from a normal pad/rotor replacement brake job.
The book calls for it starting at 3 years then every year.
If you think you are getting the finest care for your baby at acura you are sadly mistaken
Bleeding the brakes is a techs least fave job- and its so simple that every owner can DIY it.
The only thing different than regular cars is the order, driver front = LF then clockwise around the car LF RF RR LR
Use DOT3 or DOT4 fluid. Synthetic is preferred by many- buy 1 quart for 6-7 bucks and you are ready to go

From the instructions provided by Porkipine...it seems there are a few steps missing. Has anyone done this before...are there any tips you can give me (in terms of doing this myself) ?
