Exclamation Dead Battery = Panic Horn

I tried to find this topic but came up empty....I’m sure it’s buried deep in here somewhere.

I parked my 08 TL at the airport for three days and came back to a totally dead battery.

Because I drive an Acura TL I carry an emergency jump starter, so I was prepared for this. I wasn’t prepared for the horn to start blasting when I turned on the jump starter.
The car started right up but it was asking for a code. Finally found the code...radio and nav...but neither seemed to work...horn kept blasting. Embarrassing. I tried to Google the problem but came up empty. It was late so I couldn’t call an Acura dealer. Tried the whole process again...horn blasted, car started, code required, but whatever I was doing wasn’t working. I was contemplating driving home with the horn blasting when I tried it for about the fourth time and it started without the horn.

Question....with a dead battery and a jump starter, is there a way to start the car without the panic horn sounding? I couldn’t find this in the owners manual anywhere. I really don’t want to do it again.

ps... I bought a battery minder and hook it up often.

probably not. My first indication of the dead battery was that the key fob did not open the door or trunk, so I used the key to gain access to the car. Should I have opened the hood, hooked up the jumper, locked the door and turned the jumper on? Maybe that would have allowed me to open the door with the key fob and silenced the alarm.

add power to the car and either "place the key in the door cylinder and unlock the car" or "unlock the car via the remote button" and the horn blasting should stop! The car is blaring the alarm because it thinks it's being broken into! The battery died and left the alarm "armed". Now that you gave it power with the hood/door open it's thinking "uh-oh, I'm getting stolen today"

That sounds reasonable and I thought I tried it that way. I think I was keyed in on the requirement to input the codes thinking that had something to do with the problem.
