IIRC they sell a repair kit but it doesn't look at that good IMO.
Some people buy dash covers or you can do what my buddy did and go to Acura and complain until they give you a decent price on a new dash with install. I believe he paid like 350-400 total.

Yeah but I would rather have a couple of dash crack threads than thousands of "CAI" or "What mods should I buy?"

Your statement is what I'm trying to get across. These type of new posts create thousands of the threads on same issue. It's more the issue that this topic has been covered multiple times already and people are lazy to read thru the existing threads or search. There are dozens of photos just like the OP's cracks. I have the same crack.

But here are cliffnotes for the lazy on fix options:

1) Call Acura and try to get as much goodwill $ as you can from dealership for a new dash replacement. Every dealer is different but from what i've seen it's usually half off the dealer replacement cost.

2) Get a dashmat or overlay to put over your dash and ignore it.

3) Get it professionally repaired which they will fill it in with some resin. Or attempt it yourself with the off-the-shelf options. It will crack again due to the dash material continously expanding and contracting.

Trust me I get what you are saying and trying to implement here. I tell them all the time but now its like why bother. Either you answer or just dont post if it bothers you. However, I dont give them the full answer. I usually give them a response but it will still require them to search for the rest.

I have owned the car for 5 years, it's a 2006. The local Acura dealership isnot going to give a rat's ass about "Good will" and I never said costwas an issue. My question was an opinion not looking for 1 source ofresolution. I thought open forums where for me to post a question (Especiallyin the "Problems & Fixes" section) and solicit responses. Nothijack someone else's post with my issues. My late husband worked for a bodyshop here in Orlando, I will take it by there and get their opinion on Repairor Replace. I love the car and at this point driving it is worth more to methan trading it in or selling it but I know some day that will change. For now, this is where I come to get advice since my husband passed, if this is going toturn into another car head forum full of my mods are bigger than yours, I'llpost elsewhere.

Sigh I hope you didnt take my posting the wrong way. like I said these threads dont pop up very frequently so I dont mind (I cant speak for others though). Anyway, I hope you get it fix. Oh, and my buddy's TL is much older than yours (2004 TL with over 150k); so thats no excuse and he just got it replace this year.

You tell them that this a defect that has been going on since the 3G has been introduce; thats just poor quality.

My reply didn't quote but it was in response to blkmz3. Thank you for your help though. The Acura dealership doesn't have a body shop so I am not sure if talking to their sevice department will even do any good. I'll get a few estimates and see what they can offer.

Your best bet is to buy a dashmat or have it replaced. If you repair, it will crack in other places. Dashmat is around $50 and I had one for a while until I saw members getting their dash replaced for around $300 at the dealer. I decided to try my luck then and it worked out for me. Good Luck

I can tell you don't waste your money on getting it repaired. I already tried thru a professional interior restoration place. Looked almost new for few months then started cracking again. Another crack showed up in another spot too. If your dash has already cracked it's only matter of time for other spots to crack. Just a bad material design.

Armour All is what did it, IMO. Florida sun hits that oil/grease and heats it up. It didn't crack bc it's dry I can tell you that.

have used armor all on the dash of my tsx numerous times-no problems sitting in the NC sun. (knock-on-wood) I do leave the windows open (slightly so the hot air does not build up)
