"D" Light flashing,
Got an 05 TL, 5AT, 89K miles. This morning my "D" light started flashing on the instrument panel. I searched the threads here, noticed that some people took there's to the dealership to run a diagnostic on it, and some people just went ahead and changed the 3rd and 4th gear pressure switches. The car seems to be shifting fine, nothing jerky or extreme, just an occasional hiccup when going up an incline in 2nd or 3rd gear (been doing that for a while now). So do you think I should just go ahead and change the pressure switches, or take it to Acura and let them run diagnostics on it? Thanks in advance for any help.

any slipping under load like steep hill
?
like a manual trans clutch does when it goes- the TL feels the same when it has an internal clutch pack prob
04-05 subject to gen2 failure problem--its the right mileage for that
Do you have the `recall installed` external `oil jet kit` for 2nd gear shaft?
not sure? call acura- 1-800-382-2238x5 and ask if that was done

I had the "D" flash on me last year, freaked me out cause I had no idea what it was. I was a little cautious driving it but like you, noticed nothing wrong. That same evening I read up on the board here that it is most likely a pressure switch but to pay attention to any slipping in case it was not. I did make an appointment with the dealer to have it looked at and sure enough it was the switch. The "D" has not flashed since. Looking back I would have tried to swap out the switch myself and saved a few bucks, but at the time the peace of mind was worth the extra coin. I guess you really can't go wrong changing the pressure switch yourself, but if it helps you sleep at night, have the dealer diagnose it for any hidden issues.

No, never changed the ATF, I got the car last year and it had 60K on it. Do you think the dealer would charge me for a diagnostic? Or should I just call Acura instead. Thanks for all the help.
