cruise control issue
Hi,
im new to the forums and i have recently bought a used 05 TL. I recently tried using cruise control and now no matter what i press the light indicator for the cruise control doesnt go away. Can anyone tell me how i can remove this light? also my car feels heavier and harder to accelerate after using cruise control even after i turned off the car and tried to go to work this morning the light is still on and car feels heavy
thank you

There is a Cruise Control "Main" button plus the steering wheel control buttons.
Sounds like oyu need to press the "Main" button. IIRC, it is on the left side of the steering wheel - a small metallic looking button. That turns the cruise on and off.

I can't reference the Owners Manual at the moment and don't recall for sure where each button located. (I just finsihed driving the '02 TL-S for about 800 miles and I'm worried about getting one confused with the other.)
Basically there are 4 buttons/switches:
- The Accel/Resume button
- The Set/Decel button
- The Cancel button
These are all (IIRC) on the steering wheel and control the operation of the CC.
There is on other button that turns the Cruise function on or off (all the way off). This is the button you need to push. When this button is "on", cruise will be *available" but not engaged, until you hit the "Set" button.
If you brake or Cancel, the cruise will disengage, but still be *available* until you turn that Main button off.

Sorry for the confusion - the main cruise button on the 2g is on the left dash console.
Definetly sounds like it.
I think the Cruise Main should go off when you turn the car off. Is your's *always* on, even after engive restart? Does the cruise actually engage or is the light just malfunctioning.
Regardless, theat light should go on and off with the Cruise Main Button. Sounds like an electrical gremlin of some sort - probably a switch.

lol just press the cruise control button again.. and it will click off. theres acel/decel cancel and the cruise control button. you use that button to turn it on/off. cancel will just cancel the cruise setting u have it on.
