Cracking sound at drivers door

I keep hearing this cracking sound at the drivers door. It seems to be coming from the plastic part that is right above the weatherstripping. I can push up on it and it stops. They have replaced this part with a new one but the problem remains. Sometimes I wonder if the weatherstripping is making the noise and just transfering into the plastic. 3M use to make a type of lube you could put on this that kept it from cracking/dry rotting but I can't find it. It kept it soft so the friction from the door being pressed on it would allow it to give instead of binding and sounding like a balloon. What would be a good product to use for the weatherstripping?

Look up the TSB for the door rattle fix. Dealers should honor this. The door's are sealed to well. Try cracking your front windows just a hair next time you hear it. The inner door plastic flexes out and usually the rattle stops. The feed some brush cleaners under the seals and use some anti-sqweak tape.

Buy a tube of Shin Etsu grease from handa.com
I actually just greased all my door seals today and oiled the door linkage arms. Very quiet and nice solid "thump" when they close. Used this grease on the trunk seals, too.
