Cracked dashboard people - please vote in the attached poll so that we can have some type of informal count of how many cars have had this issue. Feel free to respond if you know another owner who won't be responding to this poll.

I'm starting this because I just read an article on the NYTimes about Dodge Ram trucks that have had cracked dashboards, and I'm guessing the 3G TL has more than the Ram. But when I went to www.carcomplaints.com, I found a total of 1 respondent that highlighted a cracked dash in the 2004-2008 TL. NOT compelling statistics. Thanks - I did know that, but I don't know how many of those 500 have cracked dashes. I don't hope that this thread will match the volume of people on facebook, but thought it was a tangible statistical data point worth creating.

 

i think one of them is the "updated" one. something about when FB changed the types of pages from fan to like or something like that.

 

Just read this on the facebook page.

"I posted the first time about my dash having a crack to suddenly appear on my 05 Acura TL in February 2009. My car had 40k miles on it at that time. I paid $560 to have it replaced. A few weeks ago exactly 3 years later, the outline of my airbag on the passenger side has suddenly appeared. I called Acura of Cal and they have assigned me a case number. I do not believe the problem is with the dash. I believe the airbags are causing the dash to crack. My car has 73k miles on it now. Enough is enough with this problem!!!"

 

Ive got a decent crack on the passenger side of my 05 base. 150k miles it was bound to happen. I dont mind it really. I like the look of the actual dash as compared to a cover (no offense to anyone that has it. I had thought about getting one myself). As for now just rolling with it. If it gets worse Ill do something though

 

Hello I have a 2004. Acura is willing to pay for half and let me pay 1100. I disagree. Acura is not issuing a recall because not a lot of people have complained. My last resort is to participate in a class action. For all interested here is the information below. If there are anyone in Texas who can fix a dash, please let me know. I am looking to pay 300-400.
