Coolant issue

I had coolant spray out from the overflow tank onto the top of engine. Couldn't find an issue with anything except the air intake boot had a nice sized crack. Would that play any role in this happening? 2005 TL

is the coolant the right color (not stained brown)? If it is, it is most likely your rad cap

since these cars are not known for blowing head gaskets, try replacing your radiator cap. I had the same issue on my 94 accord in 2004, and I started smelling coolant on my 2002 CL0-S and could not find a leak. A new cap solved both of those issues

^maybe not the rad cap, but the overflow tank/reservoir cap.
it's plastic and is known to break and leak coolant every where

I concur with Justin and Maj...the reservoir plastic cover cracks and breaks very easily. I had mine replaced because it was broken....

sorry guys OP replied back indicating the cap was broken and replacing it fixed the issue... there is a spring with a big ass rubber ring attached to it with a valve in the middle that opens to let coolant out and into the rad..

the piece in the middle of the smaller blue ring is what broke

just for noobs, while replacing, check the RAD CAP. Stock is 1.1 bar (16psi)...some honda's run 1.3 bar (19psi)...replace with the same 1.1 bar cap

It's funny to see this post. When doing the timing belt not even a week ago i noticed the cooling system wouldn't pressure up and when I squeezed on the radiator hose fluid flowed freely to the overflow tank. The little piece of the cap Yeu mentioned had broken off. At first I thought the worst having just replaced the water pump and thermostat.

After that was taken care of I noticed a small leak at the heater control valve.

After that I noticed the overflow tank cap is cracked badly. I just got back from Acura picking up my transmission pressure switches and some missing underbody cladding and totally forgot to pick up a new overflow cap. This was the 5th trip across town to the dealer in a little over a week.

I think this makes over $1,000 in parts this week trying to keep the car in tip top reliable condition.

welcome to the club

I spent $3200 in the last 7 month to fix a TON of stuff on my car due to wear and tear...and to replace the a/c condenser that took a rock out on a date...

I'm guessing that's labor included.

Might as well buy another 2G.

yeah

Timing belt
A/C condenser
all engine mounts
oil sending unit
all 4 end links
front ball joints (lower)
both sway bar bushing kits
alignment
trans fluid change
oil change

If it was summer time I would have done all of the suspension work myself but eff that when it's -2X outside without the wind chill and you do not have a heated garage lol
