Control Arm Bushing

I took my car to get an alignment and the tech said it would be impossible because the control arm bushing is too worn down and the wheel won't hold the settings. He also said that it would be impossible to replace the bushing and the both control arms would need to be replaced.

Has anyone done this before and is it possible to just do the bushings.

Thanks,
