Comptech exhaust

I bought a used Comptech exhaust and one muffler has a broken weld, is there anyway to fix this? Will Comptech weld it back as a courtesy to keep a good reputation and help a man out?

Not sure about CT doing it since you bought it used (warranties transferring and all that), but it's worth a shot. Easier solution may be to take it to a mechanic and get a quote on how much he'll charge to fix/redo the weld.

Take it to a local muffler shop. They'll probably fix it for 20 dollars.

Yeah. Local muffler shop. Your creating more work for yourself with trying to contact Comptech and crap. You think a comptechtech is going to do the welding? They will just give it to some muffler shop as well.

def take it to the local muffler shop comptech won't help you, i am not impressed with comptech's quality especially there welds I had 2 completely fail on me causing the mid pipe to drop. I was on vacation in new york city it was a huge hassle. Basically the two pieces completely rusted off on the joint right before the split that has the clamp. This exhaust was only like three years old. I could never get a hold of anyone at comptech to try to help me. I ended up just using a stainless clamp to join the two pieces it seems to be going strong for about 6 months now. I didn't want to have it welded since it would be impossible to install like that since the exhaust would be almost one big piece and getting a shop to install a joint would be more trouble and they would prly fuck it up... the clamp was only like 6 bucks from napa its the same as what you see on big rigs to connect their pipe to the muffler.

while you're at it, get the tips switched to something that looks better? Never liked the round tips in the rectangleish exhaust bumper cutout.
