Code P0443 --help

Hi guys. I just bought my TL-S and saw this code came up on the messages screen in the nav. I saw the description on here and saw some guys had this issue who installed a CAI(I think on a CL not a TL). As far as I can tell my car is bone stock.
My car IS a acura certified car but it looks like this message has been there since August of 2010 so I am assuming they could not clear it. Anyone else have any more information on it ? I do not see a check engine light or anything.

As long as the CEL isn't lit, don't worry about the historical fault code. The code iindicates a Evaporative Emission Control System Purge Control Valve Circuit Malfunction. Could be a hose was left disconnected or there was a problem and was corrected.

Thank you. You would think being this is a Certified car and all they would have cleared the code.

As often mentioned in many threads here, CPO is often barely worth the paper its printed on. You are paying a premium for a short extended warranty, and the dealer knows the odds are it will expire before you need anything.

Hi, I have a 2004 Acura TL with 55k miles that's getting the P0443 code. I cleared the code, yet had the code come up again a couple of weeks later. Is this most likely a matter of replacing the evap canister purge valve? If yes, is a DYI project or best left to a shop?

Hi Everyone. I am getting the same code on my 2006 tl with nav. no mods of any sort. Is there an easy fix for this? All search results explain what the code means but no mention of how to fix. Do I replace the canister, a solenoid, gas cap????

Thanks in advance

Quick update for those that need to figure this out in the future. After extensive research, I narrowed it down to this 36162-RDV-J01 VALVE, PURGE CONTROL SOLENOID from dchautomotive for $84.

Really easy to swap out.
1. Remove plastic covering the main engine exposing the valve cover. 4 small plastic fasners at the bottom of the cover need quarter twist and pops right off.

2. This part is mounted with 2 10mm bolts on right side of valve cover if you are standing facing the front of the car. 2 hoses clamp to the unit. unclamp hoses. unplug wire harness.

3. Install all in reverse. CEL went off by itself after 4 engine starts. From what i understand, 50 engine starts will reset the light automatically but I am confident I have not had that many starts since the code first showed up.

Hope this saves you a ton of headache and money. 10 minutes tops with a universal joint on a 10mm socket.

LOL, having the same problem. I ordered the purge valve on Tuesday, should have it by Monday. Good to know I was in the right path.

Check the hose before you order the valve, sometimes the hose rots through and you'll get the code as a result.

5 minutes and a $5 hose could save you the $100 for the valve

mine rotted into two pieces one time

I checked all the hoses before I ordered the part. I kept getting the Check Gas Cap warning way before the code, at least a couple times a month. Then one day driving to the beach the code came up.

What hoses should I need to check? I have the same code but intermittently.

Thanks
