Clutch squealing problem.
Clutch squealing problem.
Hello! I’m new to the Acurazine forms but I have used it to look up problems but I need help. I have a 2008 Acura TL type s manual. About 3 months ago I replaced the clutch my self all went well until after I replaced it and it was back on the road. The issue is when the car is cold like sitting over night cold and I crank it up the throw out bearing (I assume) squeals when no pressure is on the clutch. I replaced it when I did the original clutch job. I then got a new throw out bearing from Acura and took it to a shop to replace it thinking the through bearing was bad. Go the car back from that shop and it still squealed. I then took it to Acura to diagnose it and they said they need to take the car apart. So I agreed and they took it apart down to the clutch. So aside the point my flywheel was bad so it ruined my new clutch so I had to buy a whole new clutch kit and fly wheel. So now at this point I’m on my second clutch installed. They assumed that was the problem. Well sure enough the next day having the car back and paying $1,200 for the job it still squealed. And they looked at it once more but can’t really seem to figure it out. So now I’m on my 3rd throw out bearing 2nd clutch kit and a new flywheel and a brand new slave cylinder. (Also all these parts are LuK brand) I can’t seem to figure it out also another point in it so in the mornings the clutch pedal is way different cold rather than warm the point of where pressure is put on the clutch is near the bottom of travel for the pedal and when the car warms up it acts normal with normal engagement and pressure applying point. If anyone can help would be much appreciated and if you don’t understand something and need more info I can answer to help more understand the situation.
I would change the clutch fluid and see if that fixes your pedal feel issue. I had a weird "cricket chirp" noise after I got a new clutch installed. Doesn't sound like you have the same noise but greasing the pivot points on the clutch fork fixed it.
when I replaced the clutch myself and did the slave cylinder we tried bleeding the clutch but it would bleed right for some reasons like wouldn’t want to build pressure or anything and it took a while to figure it out but eventually got it to an okay point.
you need 2 people for this and make sure the pedal doesn't reach the floor (or use a rubber hose on the nipple to help prevent air getting sucked back in) and repeat a few times.
this would cause more of an inconsistent feel as you mention you have on cold starts. Almost spongy?
