Clutch pricing

I'm looking for an accurate estimate as to what it would cost to have my clutch replaced in my '04 TL 6MT. I'd like to see posts from similar drivers with estimates of what it cost them to have this done. Thank you!

or buy all the parts from acuraoemparts.com or the likes and go to an independent mechanic and have them install.

it shouldnt be more than $600 for both the parts and the labor.
but everything varies.

Clutch set via Acura is going to be around 360. Labor should be between 4 and 6 hours, depending on the shop, and at 65-110 bucks an hour(also depending on the shop), you're looking 260-660 labor plus MTF.

That would be list price, but you can pick the parts wholesale @ $280. This naturally doesn't include a flywheel if needed, $644/$483, and that pushes the cost up considerably.

Just did my clutch last week. The dealer wanted 2,500 total for the whole job lmao i ran outta there in a heartbeat. I ended up buying my parts through a vendor here "Tim" in arizona, the total came out to 387.00 with overnight shipping. Remind you this doesnt included a flywheel i didnt need one. and i payed $700 for labor at my friends mechanic shop. so i would say around $1000 should be what ur paying i wouldnt go over $1500. good luck

I was out of town when my went bad (Wife driving!!!). Had it towed into local. Clutch was toast. Originally dealer wanted $2300, but talked them down to $1990. They did a good job but time to get a new car with a more wife friendly auto tranny. ML

how can you tell if you need a new fly wheel or not without taking things apart?

I was just going to say about $1000 as well for stock stuff...depending of course on where you get it done at and what parts you use. An upgraded clutch alone will cost almost $1000!

I just replaced my clutch on 11/3/2010 for $400.00.
I bought the clutch set from Acuraoemparts.com
it was $275.00

I went to an indy mechanic, an azine member recommended them to me. total came out to be 475, because they ordered a special alignment tool and had to buy a gasket.
Heres a thread I created, pictures of the old clutch.
