Clutch cable maybe?

Went to pull out of a stop, heard a snap or breaking noise, car wouldn't move after that. The clutch felt harder and wouldn't stall out if I tried. It's a 06 TL could it just be the clutch cable it's self or worse. How bad will it be to fix?
-Thanks guys

its hydraulic clutch. so unless the clutch lines are damage. It might be the shifter cable

Or an axle? How big of a snap noise was it? With the car off, can you move the shifter between gears?

It still shifts between gears and i didn't see anything hanging or leaking. I called a shop he said the pressure plate coulda broke and the clutch would have to be replaced. If I'm lucky it's could be a link in the shifter.

Is the car able to accelerate or not? I agree check the axles.

Well let's put it this way, I can put it in any gear with the engine running without using the clutch foot on the gas and nothing happens. The car will not stall out even if I try.

Car turns on tho? Assuming it does since you said you can put it in any gear while running. Wouldn't that rule out the clutch?

Honestly I'm not sure. It's was already running when I tried everything but I didn't try to shut it off and back on.

Nah I pushed it into a safe spot and turned it off and left it there. Haven't been able to do much with it today due to work. I have a buddy going to try and start it up now but I'll probably end up just getting it towed to a shop that specializes in transmission services

What if you need a shop that specializes in axles?

Hold on....Engine running, he can run through the gears without touching the clutch...that isn't an axle issue. This would be transmission related...so either the clutch itself is not engaging for one reason or another...or the shifter isn't shifting for one reason or another.

Interesting....not sure how you were able to freely shift gears without the clutch if it is just the axle.

Great for you overall though. At least a somewhat simple and not stupdily costly repair.
