Clinking noise from calipers.

Hello everyone. I have problem with my 08 TL Type S. I hear the clinking noise coming from the front brakes. It sounds like break pads are hitting the caliper every time when I am driving over rough roads. I went to the dealer 5 times past 3 months, and still no luck! They did changed rear dampers, struts, front break pads and upgrade shims, but the noise is still there. Is there any way to fix this problem? Thanks for listening.

Have they checked the control arm bolts and other suspension parts for tightness? Could be a suspension knock rather than brakes.

Hi Trew. Well, first I thought that the noise came from the suspension, but when I push the break-peddle, I didn’t hear the noise. So I believe it has to be the breaks.

Not necessarily true. When you apply the brakes, the force of the vehicle stopping can put a load on the loose suspension component which may stop the noise.

Not saying you're wrong, but just pointing out some other possibilities.

sway bar connectors too, and the position of the sway bar-

I had a car where the sway bar would hit the control arm, only in certain situations
Of course the dealer could not replicate and replaced replaced replaced until one tech finally noticed the missing stripe of paint on the edge of the sway bar- the contact point for two metals rubbed the paint off
Seems they had been mounted a little off center for a number of VINs- I drove another car on the lot and demostrated the same problem to them!

Talking Clicking Noise

Good morning everyone. It has been three days since my car was serviced, and so for so good. According to the technician, he put new shims and re-bled the breaks. For those people with the same problems, you know what to do! For past three days, it has been pleasure driving my car without that F!@# $%^ clicking noise. I will like to thank; Trew, YeuEmMaiMai, 01tl4tl, and cellowiz for listening.

I had this problem and a simple break job fixed it.
