Climate Control/Heated Seats Intermittent.

Been having this problem on and off, been to the dealer several times with no fix. When you start the car the heat/ac. and heated seats (nothing will come on not even the light indicator for the heated seats, or the digits that show the temp) wont work for about 5 minutes, then its all fine.

Dealer replaced some relays, nav uint and nav screen, checked grounds, with no luck.

if its REALLY cold and you set the ac/heater to AUTO it will take a while to start blowing WARM air simply because the coolant is cold. thats the logic behind the system. Try manually adjusting the temp and fan speed and watch the engine temp gauge. the air should get warmer as the engine gets hotter. Regarding you seat heaters, the element is either good or bad.

Wow, they changed a lot.

Did they replace the thermistor going to the system that senses the cabin temperature?

I would think the seats and hvac are different beasts but would have to look at the schematics to be sure. It happens to both seats or just one?

Both seats dont work. It feels like there no power at all. First thing i do is click the heated seats, few minutes later once the light comes on. The heat works. Even if i leave the heat on and seats on. Once you turn off the car, and start again you have to wait five minutes for it to come back on.

Not sure if the dealer replaced thermistor.

Yeah. Can't adjust them or use the heater option for them either. The things that don't work all seem to be temperature related.

Okay mine had the same issue. got lucky and found the right guy who can figure it out.
There is a relay for the mirrors, i think it also works as an emergency shut off for the climate control.
you will be able to find the relay inside the left side of your dash, you know where is the main switch to adjust the mirrors? you will be able to find the relay back there. got mine from the dealer for $ 18.34
I can email you a pic of the location if you want.

Maybe the '08 is different or I'm just missing it, but I don't see any mirror relay in the '04-'05 ELT manual...
