Clicking sound from engine area

I have a 2007 TLS 5AT w/ 44k miles and I have a question about a clicking sound I hear from under the hood when I give it some gas. I haven't heard this sound with any other car before, and these are the circumstances I have heard it:

1) From a parking spot, put the car in reverse, give it some gas to backup and I hear a click as I move back.

2) When not in sport-shift mode and I give it some heavy throttle it will click sometimes, sometimes twice.

3) When I am in sport-shift mode, if I try and give it hard gas from the start or sometimes just after I shift, I will hear a click or two.

Is this a normal sound coming from the transmission or what? I would say I notice this sound more when the car is cold, but it sometimes does it well after the car is warmed up.

Anyone else notice this sound? If anyone wants me to try and explain it in better detail I can try.

It could be a motor or transmission mount.

I noticed it more today, when I am in sport shift mode and I down shifted to 2nd gear getting ready to turn, it made the clicking sound. It doesn't sound too bad or loud, it just seems to happen whenever there is some stress on things.

Then its more than likely the motor/trans mounts..

Our cars are known to have shitty motor mounts. Have these checked out as soon as you can and replaced.

I hear it when I'm parking very slowly. Just one click usually when I'm reversing. No idea what is it.

My vote is your mounts, too.

Apparently you don't peruse the forums very often. There are plenty of threads of people having to replace their motors mounts under this mileage...
