CV boots are generally wear and tear items. That being said I think they may be covered up to 50k, I could be wrong though so check your owners manual. If it's not covered a CV boot replacement kit is availible for about 30 bucks, and it will cost about 2 hours labor to install. But it's still cheaper than replacing the axel which shouldn't be necessary if you nip it in the bud now. If you let the torn boot go too long though it will destroy the U-Joint in the axel. so fix it now before you have to buy a new axel.

where do i get new cv shafts mine are both bad, drivers outside and passenger outside. I want to replace the full cv shaft, not just the joint. I'm not that good of a mechanic.
