I have an 04 6mt that i bought last year. During acceleration in 2nd or 3rd gear at low rpms (<2200) there is a metallic clanging sound coming from underneath the front end

Does anyone have any experience with this noise or possibly know what it could be?

 

It's the heat shield above the intermediate shaft, one of the washers is loose/worn. I don't have time at the moment to look for it, but it's in the TSB list.

 

yep. mine sounded like a metallic pinging noise. I just shifted the heat shield towards the drivers side and retorqued the bolts. no problems since.

 

I hope its that simple. Im doing the plugs tomorrow. Ill get under and check. Ill.look at.the tsb tonight. Thank you
