First off let me say I have searched this topic and was not able to find a thread where someone had the fuel cap issue with a check engine light that wouldnt go away. I retightened my fuel cap and the check fuel cap light went away after a day however the check engine light will not go away. Had the code read and its all emissions as I expected from the cap. However why would the cap light go away yet the check engine light not reset itself?
The car is an 07 Type-S Auto with 42,000 miles. Im concerned I may have another issue like in the other threads I have read. I am concidering taking it into the dealer but dont want to get raped since its out of warranty, or would the powertrain cover it (doubtfully)?

what code is it throwing?

 

you will have to drive 150-200 miles for the code to recycle.....

if you know the radio/navi codes, I would reset the ECU by popping off the battery and leaving it off for 15-20 minutes and reconnecting it....

give it a shot and let us know how it goes....

 

I called the dealer yesterday and to my surprise I still have another 2 months of warranty. Taking it in Tuesday and will report back.
