2007 TL-S with 64K miles and I bought it new. I run Chevron 92 99% of the time. Last week the CEL P0401 came on. I have looked at the DIY posts and searched the board for information. I called Southcenter Acura and have an appointment for tomorrow AM to have the EGR system fixed. I told them that 75 miles each way means that I want it fixed the first time. Anyone else with this issue?

no. but i just looked up the code in our database here at Acura. and that comes up as "EGR- insufficient flow" .

Could be carbon buildup, or clogged egr valve

 

Just got back form the dealer and $550.00 later it is fixed. New valve and dental picks cleaned the port. Sure hope there is no need to return or may have to start looking for a new ride...

 

Just logged the same code today...

 

Not sure if they are related but i have been having issue with the same code and just cannot get it fixed..
i went through the DIY section and opened up the intage manifold and cleaned it and the passage and everything and suction seemed excellent so i assume i got it cleared..
But the code came back.. and i noticed that the TCS light comes on whenever that happens..
Changed the EGR valve and still same result..
The only other code i have is for catalytic converter bank 1 below effeciency..Does it have anything to do with it??
I think i have exhausted my obvious options which have worked for others for cleaning the EGR port.. Will appreciate any info.. the car has 168K..
