CD player not working or ejecting CDs

Earlier today my CD player in my 04 TL started to experience some issues. The CD player doesn't work and it won't eject CDs. Can I open it myself and fix? Or do I need a new radio? Radio works fine. Anyone? Thanks.

I had the same problem. 04 MT TL, i took it to the dealer and asked around and they said to fix it youd have to buy a whole new radio, i just invested about 200 bones to buy a isimple unit, its basicly a auxiliary that connects directly to your iphone, id recommend just buying that and turning on some pandora instead of the cd.

Anyone ever fix the radio themselves? Also anyone who let the dealer fix it, did they say what exactly failed? Thanks

This morning I went to my local electrical guy, and he told me i need a new or used radio. So I browsed some old threads and my options are,

1. Buy a new or refurbished used radio off ebay, or junkyard, probably the cheapest option. I burn a lot of CDs so could this happen again? to the "new" used radio? lol

2.Go to the Dealer, pay $500 and get some type of warranty no doubt? I'm really trying to keep my radio OEM and in working condition.

3. Get a iSimple and forget CDS seems to be the most popular option from what I've read.

Haven't fixed mine yet, but plan to.........going to contact Martin (he is in Florida). More info in threads below..

Another option, could be more expensive....
